African American Communities
African American Communities provides access to primary source materials documenting race relations across social, political, cultural and religious perspectives in the United States from 1863-1986. This collection focuses on Atlanta, Chicago, St Louis, Brooklyn, and towns and cities in North Carolina, and provides multiple views of the African American community through personal diaries and scrapbooks, pamphlets, newspapers and periodicals, correspondence, official records and in-depth oral histories.
African American Historical Serials
The African American Historical Serials Collection is an archive of periodicals that document the history of African American religious life and culture between 1829 and 1922. It includes newspapers and magazines, plus reports and annuals from African American religious organizations, including churches and social service agencies.

African American Newspapers, 1827-1998
This digital collection from Readex provides access to approximately 270 U.S. newspapers published by and/or for African Americans from the mid-1800s to the late 1990s. Based on James P. Danky’s African-American Newspapers and Periodicals: A National Bibliography, this collection, completed in 2011, documents cultural events and activities of interest to African-American communities of the period.
Amateur Newspapers from the American Antiquarian Society
Amateur Newspapers from the American Antiquarian Society provides access to amateur publications that were written, edited, and published primarily by young people, aged 12-20, during the second half of the 19th century. This collection comprises of 3,000 titles and includes editorials, original short fiction, essays, poetry, and more.
Archives Unbound
Archives Unbound presents topically-focused digital collections of historical documents. Gale's collections in Archives Unbound cover a broad range of topics from the Middle Ages forward--from Witchcraft to World War II to twentieth-century political history. Collections are chosen for Archives Unbound based on requests from scholars, archivists, and students.
Archives of Human Sexuality and Identity
Archives of Human Sexuality and Identity is a three part collection which will provide access to documents (government and non-government), grassroots newsletters and journals, periodicals, literature, diaries, personal papers, and ephemeral material related to the LGBTQ movement in North America and beyond.
Part I (LGBTQ History and Culture, 1946-2000s) will provide access to approximately 2 million pages of newsletters, personal papers, government documents, and more, represent the Gay Rights Movements between 1946-200s. (Expected publication March 2016) Part II (Human Sexuality) will focus on 18th century to late 19th century erotic literature, diaries of key figures, and have a broader focus on sexuality. Arte Público Hispanic Historical Collection: Series 1 is an archive that provides access to historical content pertaining to Hispanic history, literature, political commentary, and culture in the United States. The archive contains approximately 60,000 historical articles, texts of over 1,100 historical books, and more. Content available is written in 80% Spanish and 20% English.
Arte Público Hispanic Historical Collection: Series 2
Arte Público Hispanic Historical Collection Series 2 provides access to rare manuscripts, books by Latino-Hispanic Americans, and historical newspapers. The archive contains over 250,000 pages of personal and organizational manuscripts, over 3,000 issues of rare historical newspapers and periodicals, and more. Content available is written in 80% Spanish and 20% English.
Associated Press Collections Online
The Associated Press Collections Online (AP Online) consists of an extensive collection of archival files and internal communications from various bureaus of the Associated Press (AP), in six parts, anticipated to total around 2.7 million pages.
