CRL gathers and provides information here about commercial and open access digital resources of interest to the CRL community. This information is intended to inform library decisions on investment in electronic resources and related services.
Provides materials from the National Archives of the United Kingdom. It includes official correspondence, diplomatic dispatches, profiles of leading political figures, and minutes of meetings for South Africa during the period 1948-1980.
"The London Broadcasting Company/Independent Radio News audio archive consists of 7,000 reel-to-reel tapes in a collection that runs from 1973 to the mid-1990s. It is the most important commercial radio archive in the UK and provides a unique audio history of the period. This digitised collection focuses on the most noteworthy content – approximately 3,000 hours of recordings relating to news and current affairs." -- Jisc eCollections for Higher Education Institutions 2014-2017.
The World News Connection (WNC) contains English-language transcriptions of news articles from selected non-U.S. sources, generated by the U.S. Open Source Center. WNC began distribution in 1995 as a successor product to the Foreign Broadcast Information Service Daily Reports. The service was discontinued on December 31, 2013.
The WNC offered by East View Information Services offers access to 856,013 items dating from 1995 to 2013. The archive is full-image with fully searchable text.
