CRL gathers and provides information here about commercial and open access digital resources of interest to the CRL community. This information is intended to inform library decisions on investment in electronic resources and related services.
Africa Development Data Explorer (ADDaX) provides access to reference data from 54 African economies. According to East View Information Service, data is collected from local and regional African sources as well as international sources.
Analyse Africa, a service from the Financial Times, provides access to macroeconomic data from global and local data sources on Africa from 2000-Present.
It includes access to key indicators in the following categories: political stability, banking and financing, infrastructure, education, economic potential, environment, social dynamics, trade, labour, and foreign direct investment.
Provides materials from the National Archives of the United Kingdom. It includes official correspondence, diplomatic dispatches, profiles of leading political figures, and minutes of meetings for South Africa during the period 1948-1980.
A comprehensive, premium financial information platform used by finance and investment professionals, journalists, economists, and other researchers, Bloomberg Professional Service provides access to current and historical news and information relating to financial markets and financial activity worldwide.
The Business & Management Collection provides access to over 1,000 multimedia lectures and case studies covering six subject areas:Finance, Accounting & Economics Global Business Management Management, Leadership & Organization Marketing & Sales Strategy Technology & Operations
The collection contains over 90 lecture series that are updated monthly.
CEIC Global Database provides access to macro- and microeconomic data from 128 countries, containing reportedly over 2.5 million time series from the United States and countries worldwide. Indicators include government and public finance data (gross domestic product, national government debt), inflation, domestic trade, foreign trade, financial markets, and key industry sectors such energy and tourism. Data is compiled and normalized by CEIC for comparison of various economic factors across countries. CEIC’s platform (CDMNext) allows dowloading of time series data (up to 3,000 series at a time) to Excel for analysis.

Digitalia Film Library is a multilingual, multi-national collection of streaming films from Spain, France, other European and eastern European countries, North American Classic films, and Latin American films from many Latin American countries including Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Brazil (Portuguese), and others. This library now has approximately 900+ films and will grow to over 900 films this year.

"The London Broadcasting Company/Independent Radio News audio archive consists of 7,000 reel-to-reel tapes in a collection that runs from 1973 to the mid-1990s. It is the most important commercial radio archive in the UK and provides a unique audio history of the period. Online subscription database of multimedia content, covering "Terrorist/Rebel Incidents, Threats, Hostages, Groups,[ . . .] Individuals, Country Data, Alerts, Maps & Recognition Photos of Vehicles, Weapons, Clothing & More. . . . . Mergent Archives (previously, Mergent Webreports) is an online database of indexed corporate and industry related documents. Containing 180,000 documents from over 100 countries/industries, the collection includes digitized manuals with global corporate historical data, equity research reports, international annual reports, and archived analyses and forecasts from Mergent, Inc.
NK News is an independent site that provides news, opinion & analysis, research tools, data, and expertise focused on North Korea.
The site provides free access to basic articles, intelligence, and opinion. Institutional subscription provides full article access, full access to databases and tools, and access to NK Intelligence.
Oxford University Studies in the Enlightenment Online provides access to 217 volumes from the "Studies on Voltaire and the Eighteen Century" (SVEC) and "Oxford University Studies in the Enlightenment" (OSEO).
This digital collection is scheduled to launch in September 2018, with all volumes within the print series digitized by 2020.
PolicyMap from The Reinvestment Fund (TRF) is a fully web-based Geographic Information System that offers access to thousands of up-to-date data indicators on demographics, lending, housing, income and spending, education, jobs, health, federal programs, and much more.
Portico is a service of the not-for-profit organization ITHAKA. Portico preserves digital publications such as e-journal articles, e-books, and digitized historical collections. Portico maintains that content in a "dark," or offline archive, to be made accessible to eligible libraries if and when the content becomes unavailable from its publisher. The purpose of Portico is to protect library and publisher investment in e-content by ensuring the long-term accessibility of that content to their communities.

The Rand Daily Mail Archive provides searchable, full-text coverage of the Rand Daily Mail, a daily newspaper published in Johannesburg, South Africa. Coverage spans1902, the year of the founding of the newspaper, to 1985, the year it was closed amidst a government crackdown on anti-apartheid activism. .
RetroNews, the Press Archive of Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF) provides free access to over 400 newspapers, journals, magazines and reviews published between 1631-1950.
RetroNews also provides subscriptions to exclusive editorial content and advanced features and search tools used to search through the archival content.
A set of online subscription databases of historical and current South African legal publications aggregated by Sabinet. The collection includes official gazettes, journals, bills of the South African Parliament, municipal bylaws, acts and provincial and national legislation, and labor judgements in the courts, dating from 1910 to the present.
VoxGov, first launched for subscription access in January 2014, is a unique “discovery platform” which aggregates a broad range of official and ephemeral information resources issued by individual representatives and organizations from all branches of the U.S. Federal Government, and links that content to publicly accessible government documentation.
As of 2019, VoxGov has accessed content from over 14,000 government website locations in continuous daily indexing, and that they cache web content including “information that is no longer retrievable.” They assert that many governmental press releases, as well as social media posts, have “never before been aggregated, much less collected in real-time.”
