Global Press Archive

The Global Press Archive (GPA) is an initiative by East View Information Services in partnership with Stanford University Libraries and the Hoover Institution Library & Archives to digitize over 2,000 predominantly foreign-language newspaper titles ranging in coverage from the late 19th century to present times. Still in its development stage, the GPA reportedly will digitally preserve and make searchable "more than 30 million pages of newspaper content" over several years.

RetroNews

RetroNews, the Press Archive of Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF) provides free access to over 400 newspapers, journals, magazines and reviews published between 1631-1950. 

RetroNews also provides subscriptions to exclusive editorial content and advanced features and search tools used to search through the archival content.

Latin American Newspapers, Series 1 and 2, 1805-1922

Part of the World Newspaper Archive, created by CRL in partnership with Readex, Latin American Newspapers, Series 1 & 2 (1805-1922) provides access to key historical newspapers published in Latin America and the Caribbean between 1805 and 1922. Coverage features significant titles from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Venezuela, and elsewhere.

Series 1 and Series 2 may be purchased separately or collectively, offering integrated access to nearly 300 historical Latin American newspapers.

World Newspaper Archive

The World Newspaper Archive is the product of a collaboration between CRL libraries and Readex,a division of NewsBank, to preserve and provide persistent access to historical newspapers from around the globe.

CRL members support WNA through purchase of individual modules. To date, the WNA includes the following collections or "modules":

South Asian Newspapers, 1864-1922

Part of the World Newspaper Archive, created by CRL in partnership with Readex, South Asian Newspapers, 1864-1922 provides access to significant historical newspapers published in India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Among the key publications: Amrita Bazar Patrika (Calcutta), Madras Mail (Madras), Tribune (Lahore) and the Ceylon Observer (Colombo). Languages include English, Bengali, and Gujarati.

The Times has long been an important source of reporting, information, and opinion, on politics, finance, health, science, culture, the arts, sports, and fashion in the U.S. and abroad, with special emphasis on international news and the New York metropolitan area.

Early State Records

Early State Records, contains a compilation of the microfilm collection Records of the States of the United States of America that was created in the 1940's.

Included in the original project were: constitutions, the debates of constitutional conventions; statutes and early versions of compiled laws; journals and debates of the legislative bodies of the thirteen original states; administrative, executive, and court records; local, county, and city records; broadsides; records of the Native American nations; and newspapers covering British Colonial America and post-Revolutionary development.   The entire collection totals roughly 2,500,000 pages or images (approximately 1900 reels including at least one supplement.)
