Allgemeines Künstlerlexikon (AKL) Online [3]

The Allgemeines Künstlerlexikon (AKL) - Internationale Künstlerdatenbank - Online Artists of the World Online is a lexicon project started in 1969, currently offered through De Gruyter Online. It assembles data about artists from the standard art history works Thieme-Becker (published in 37 volumes from 1907 to 1950) and Vollmer (6 volumes, 1953–62), the Nürnberger Künstlerlexikon, and the Lexikon der Künstlerinnen. The AKL Online is updated on a continuing basis.

Archiv Bibliographia Judaica – Deutschsprachiges Judentum Online [4]

Archiv Bibliographia Judaica offers an archive of writings and documents created by German-Jewish authors. In addition, the database includes biographical data on more than 20,000 German-Jewish figures, as well as the complete 21-volume Encyclopedia of German-Jewish Authors along with biographical information about many listed authors.

Tillich Online is a bilingual database that makes the entire work of theologian, Paul Tillich, electronically available. In addition to Tillich's extensive body of German-Language work, Tillich Online also offers his original English material, and translations from German are being added to the database gradually.

Verfasser-Datenbank [10]

Launched in 2012, Verfasser-Datenbank (Database of Authors) features articles on literary authors in the German-speaking world from the Middle Ages to present. The database combines four literary studies reference works for a total of over 20,000 articles: Die deutsche Literatur des Mittelalters, Deutscher Humanismus 1480-1520, Frühe Neuzeit in Deutschland 1520-1620, and the Killy-Literaturlexikon.

Verfasser-Datenbank is intended to be updated regularly, with ongoing revision of Literatur des Mittelalters (German Literature of the Middle Ages) overseen by an academic advisory board. The entries  will be updated quarterly; beginning in 2013, the publisher expects to update cited references as frequently as...

World Biographical Information System (WBIS) Online [11]

The microfiche edition of K. G. Saur's Biographical Archives has been digitized and issued as a group of  databases known as the World Biographical Information System (WBIS) Online. Reference works including biographical lexicons, encyclopedias, and monographs dating from the 16th century through the 1990s are the sources of biographical entries and articles on more than five million people from various countries from the 4th millennium B.C. to the late 20th century.
