ORCID provides two core functions: (1) a registry to obtain a unique identifier and manage a record of activities, and (2) APIs that support system-to-system communication and authentication. ORCID makes its code available under an open source license, and will post an annual public data file under a CC0 waiver for free download.

Opening the Future with Central European University (CEU) Press

Central European University (CEU) Press is a leading publisher in the history of Central and Eastern Europe and the former communist countries of the Soviet Union. From medieval studies to communism and transitions to democracy it is widely recognised as the foremost English-language university press dedicated to research on the region.

CEU Press has created a sustainable Open Access (OA) publishing model called Opening the Future that gives participating member organizations access to a curated selection of their extensive backlist. The backlist titles are DRM free and libraries get perpetual access after a subscription period of three years. Oxford Scholarly Editions Online

Oxford University Press has created digital versions of its series of authoritative scholarly editions in literature, history, religion, and philosophy, rendered from print versions published from 1888 through 2012. The nine chronological/thematic modules released so far present drama, prose, and verse from the early 17th century through the Restoration period (late 1500s through 1700).
