South Asia Archives

e-Marefa

e-Marefa is a full-text database of Arabic language academic journals and other content in Arabic, English and French. Content includes more than 1,900 academic and statistical periodicals, 25,000 theses and dissertations, and 210,000 research abstracts produced by academic and research institutions throughout the Arab world, covering all research areas in humanities, social sciences, engineering and technology, and health and life sciences.

al-Manhal

Al-Manhal offers EBook and EJournal collections, which are full-text searchable and are sourced from 23 countries.  They cover subjects such as History, Geography, Biography, Law, Islamic Studies, Social Sciences, International Relations, and Language & Literature.

Al-Manhal also has a collection called EClusters Reports, which contains working papers, research reports, essays, policy briefs, newspaper reports, case studies, and conference proceedings from the leading think tanks and research institutes across the Middle East.  These reports focus on political, economic, social and security issues across the region.

United Nations iLibrary

United Nations iLibrary is a platform that publishes the digital content created by the United Nations between 2013-2015, including journals and series on: international peace and security, human rights, economic and social development, climate change, international law, governance, public health, and statistics.

The database contains 750 titles in English, and 250 in other official languages of the United Nations: French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, and Arabic.

In the future, the platform will also provide access to other resources such as working papers series and statistical databases.

Digitalia provides online access to a collection of streaming videos and thousands of French language e-Books.

Digitalia Film Library is a multilingual, multi-national collection of streaming films from Spain, France, other European and eastern European countries, North American Classic films, and Latin American films from many Latin American countries including Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Brazil (Portuguese), and others. This library now has approximately 900+ films and will grow to over 900 films this year.

SocINDEX™ with Full Text is the world's most comprehensive and highest quality sociology research database. The Krokodil Digital Archive (Крокодил) is a full-text searchable archive of the satirical magazine published in the USSR and Russia from 1922-2000 (reinstated 2005-  ). East View Information Services offers the database as a one-time purchase.

African Electronic Journals (SA ePublications)

A full-text online database of more than 350 South and Southern African journals.  The titles deal with business, education, the humanities, science, medical and health sciences, law, and theology. The journal content is largely the product of research carried out in Africa, and often does not deal with Africa as a subject.

Project MUSE was launched in 1995 by the Johns Hopkins University Press, in collaboration with the Milton S. Eisenhower Library at Johns Hopkins University, to offer the full text of JHUP scholarly journals via the Web. In 1999, Muse expanded to become a unique partnership of not-for-profit publishers, increasing its ability to offer essential periodicals in the humanities, the arts, and the social sciences.     As of 9th of August 2011 Project MUSE® offers 490 titles from 133 scholarly publishers in 2011. Project MUSE covers the fields of literature and criticism, history, the visual and performing arts, area studies, cultural studies, education, political science, gender studies, economics, and many others.
