The Global Press Archive is an initiative by East View Information Services in partnership with Stanford University Libraries and the Hoover Institution Library & Archives to digitize over 2,000 predominantly foreign-language newspaper titles ranging in coverage from the late 19th Century to present times.
Launched in 2016, the Global Press Archive features stand-alone titles and databases aggregating multiple titles from specific regions and time periods, and includes over 1,500 newspapers, 450,000 issues, and 4.7 million pages of content, with 17 countries and 12 languages represented. MultiData Online is a news database covering 52 dailies and weekly newspapers dating back to 1994. The service collects news stories in the Arabic language from various newspapers and portals as well as a number of English and French language newspapers published in Arab countries.
MultiData Online is divided into five databases. Ethnic NewsWatch is a database provided by ProQuest that features newspaper, magazines, and journals of the ethnic and minority press. The publications date back to 1990, with full-text of apprximately 1.8 million articles from 315 publications of both national and regional coverage.
Major Latino publications are featured, including El Nuevo Herald, and El Andar.
