CRL gathers and provides information here about commercial and open access digital resources of interest to the CRL community. This information is intended to inform library decisions on investment in electronic resources and related services.
ICPSR
The ICPSR data repository includes social science data and related documentation from commercial and non-commercial sources. It is an archive of more than 500,000 files of public opinion research data and other ares of the social sciences, relating to politics, education, aging, criminal justice, substance abuse, terrorism, and a multitude of other fields.
PolicyMap
PolicyMap is a curated geographic data library with mapping and analytic tools. PolicyMap provides access to over 37,000 indicators from over 150 sources, including Center for Disease Control, Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance Systems, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Housing and Urban Development, FDIC, FCC, FEMA, and the US Department of Agriculture.
FDsys
FDsys is an open access repository of U.S. federal government agency and legislative branch publications. According to a 2006 GPO presentation, FDsys "will be a world class system for managing official Government content. The system will verify and track versions, assure authenticity, preserve content, and provide permanent public access." The system was largely developed by Harris Corporation under a contract let by the GPO in 2006. In 2016 the GPO announced that "govinfo", a new system in beta, will eventually replace the FDsys website.IntelCenter Database
Online subscription database of multimedia content, covering "Terrorist/Rebel Incidents, Threats, Hostages, Groups,[ . . .] Individuals, Country Data, Alerts, Maps & Recognition Photos of Vehicles, Weapons, Clothing & More. . . . . As of 30 Sep. 2014, the ICD contains more than 141,000 records covering more than 1,100 hours of audio and video (3,800+ releases), 124,000 incidents, 800 facial records, 330 hostage records, 2,200 photos, 350 logos, 2,900 threat communications, 29 ArcGIS maps, 400 analytical reports." EIU Country Analysis
The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) Subscription Services provide several distinct sources of information on global political and economic trends, based on original EIU research and analysis. One set of subscription service products,“Country Analysis and Forecasting,” consists of data, reports and analysis from in-house researchers, freelance contributors from a range of countries worldwide, and from open sources such as the International Monetary Fund and World Bank. Country Analysis and Forecasting includes five main titles.

One group of subscription services products from the EIU is “Data Services,” presented as both regular reports themselves and as distinct, web-based tools.
Avention
Avention (formerly known as OneSource) provides real-time financial data, research and analysis, editorial content, web mining, profiles of privately and publicly owned companies, and more.
CB Insights
CB Insights is a venture capitalist database that provides financial data and profiles on privately and publicly owned companies.
S&P Capital IQ
S&P Capital IQ provides real-time data, research, and analytics on both public and private capital markets.
Bloomberg Law
Bloomberg Law provides access to legal content, integrated with tools and Bloomberg L.P.’s proprietary company and market information and news. More information on the product at: http://about.bloomberglaw.com/product-features/overview. The product incorporates many of the datrabases and content offered previously by the Bureau of National Affairs, which was purchased by Bloomberg L.P. in 2011.
Bloomberg Professional Service
A comprehensive, premium financial information platform used by finance and investment professionals, journalists, economists, and other researchers, Bloomberg Professional Service provides access to current and historical news and information relating to financial markets and financial activity worldwide.
Global Financial Data Series
In the Global Financial Data Series, the publisher (GFD) provides deep historical data on a wide variety of securities, price indices, exports, imports and more from around the world. This resource is unique in that it is the only resource, at this point, that provides easy access to many historical time series.
Slavery and Anti-Slavery: a transnational archive
Slavery and Anti-Slavery: a transnational archive provides access to four series devoted to the history of slavery in America, slave trade, and anti-slavery movement.

Euromonitor Country Reports
Formerly Country Insight, country-by-country reports with comparative "statistics on . . . consumer goods, services and industrial markets [providing] . . "analysis and statistics on national markets in 80 countries world-wide . . .[including] market size, distribution channel analysis, market trends, competitive landscape, legislation, local company profiles, company and brand shares and five year forecasts." Comparable to the Economist Intelligence Unit's Country Reports.
iPoll Databank
The iPoll database is a data source for U.S. public opinion questions and answers.
EIU Country Reports
One title within the Economist Intelligence Unit's (EIU) "Country Analysis and Forecasting" subscription series set is the EIU Country Reports. These provide regular, detailed economic and political forecasts for over 190 countries, and EIU assessments of the business and regulatory environments in those countries. The reports are updated periodically to reflect significant political and economic developments, and provide data on key economic indicators, and forecasts of economic statistics out to five years.
ProQuest International DataSets
Aggregated datasets from national governments, international organizations, and research firms.
IMF eLibrary
IMF publications and data are now fully available online through the IMF eLibrary. The content is divided into three collections: Books and Analytical Papers, Periodicals, and Statistics. Statistical data is fully searchable in one database compiled from data going back to the 1940s. Altogether IMF reports that the eLibrary covers more than 13000 titles and five databases.
World Bank e-Library
Online access to over 5,500 titles published by the World Bank since the 1990s, plus new titles as they become available.
Statista
The Statista database portal, maintained by the Hamburg, Germany-based Statista Inc., provides current statistical data and comparisons for an eclectic, wide-ranging, and continually updated array of topics, using both publicly accessible and proprietary sources. The open access portion of the database provides access to about 10 percent of the overall database content.
