American Civil Liberties Union Papers, 1912-1990 provides access to the records of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), covering the years from before the ACLU’s official founding in 1920 through the 20th century.

This digital collection contains more than 2 million pages held at the Seeley G. Mudd Manuscript Library at Princeton University, and it is available as a two part collection:

British Online Archives

British Online Archives, distributed by Microform Academic Publishers (MAP), consists of eleven thematic series, each containing individual collections of archival contents. New collections are added to each series as they become available.  Two of the series within this digital archive have also been reviewed separately by CRL: British Records on the Atlantic World, 1700-1900, and Communist Party of Great Britain.

LandScan

LandScan is a unique data set showing population distribution, developed by the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). In 2011, East View obtained an exclusive license for all distribution of this database outside of internal government uses. The data set is available through a subscription for each year (representing data collected in the previous year). East View also offers The LandScan Global Archive, a compilation of the historical LandScan data sets.

Independent Radio News Archive

"The London Broadcasting Company/Independent Radio News audio archive consists of 7,000 reel-to-reel tapes in a collection that runs from 1973 to the mid-1990s. It is the most important commercial radio archive in the UK and provides a unique audio history of the period. Archives of Refugees, Relief, and Resettlement: Forced Migration and World War II provides access to approximately 700,000 pages of unpublished manuscript records that document the causes, effects, and responses to refugee crises across the world immediately before, during, and shortly after World War II. Government records, refugee agency files, and correspondence reveal the hidden history of those uprooted within and across national borders as well as the relief, resettlement, and repatriation efforts that followed. This archive can be searched by nationality and ethnicity, country fled, and settlement and resettlement destinations.

IMF eLibrary

IMF publications and data are now fully available online through the IMF eLibrary. The content is divided into three collections: Books and Analytical Papers, Periodicals, and Statistics. Statistical data is fully searchable in one database compiled from data going back to the 1940s. Altogether IMF reports that the eLibrary covers more than 13000 titles and five databases.

IPUMS International

The Integrated Public Use Microdata Series (IPUMS) is an online database of microdata from 79 countries (2015) for international social and economic research, created and maintained by the Minnesota Population Center. Source data is provided by participating National Statistical Offices. The data are coded and documented consistently across countries and over time to facillitate comparative research.   The data are available to qualified researchers free of charge through a web dissemination system.
