The U.S. Census Bureau
The U.S. Census Bureau is a part of the U.S. Department of Commerce and is overseen by the Economics and Statistics Administration (ESA). The Census Bureau's mission is to serve as the leading source of quality data about the nation's people and economy. The Bureau collects: decennial census of population and housing, economic census, census of governments, the American Community Survey (ACS), other surveys, and economic indicators.
U.S. Geological Survey
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is an agency of the United States government that provides science about natural hazards, water, energy, minerals, and other natural resources, as well as information on ecosystems and the environment, and the impacts of climate and land-use change. The USGS provides scientific expertise and access to biological data holdings.
UK Data Service
The UK Data Service is funded by the Economic & Social Research Council (ESRC) "to meet the data needs of researchers, students and teachers from all [U.K.] sectors, including academia, central and local government, charities and foundations, independent research centres, think tanks, and business consultants and the commercial sector."
United Nations Environment Programme
The United Nations Environment Programme is an agency of the United Nations that coordinates its environmental activities.
The United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD)
The United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) compiles and disseminates global statistical information, develops standards and norms for statistical activities, and supports countries' efforts to strengthen their national statistical systems. UNSD facilitates the coordination of international statistical activities and support the functioning of the United Nations Statistical Commission.
