Medical Heritage Library

Founded in 2010, the Medical Heritage Library, Inc. is an online research, education, and digitization collaborative that aims to provide the means by which readers and scholars across a multitude of disciplines can examine the interrelated nature of medicine and society.

The MHL was initiated by the Open Knowledge Commons, which was awarded $1.5 million dollars in start-up funding from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to begin digitization at partner libraries. In May 2018, it was incorporated as a nonprofit organization.

Modern Language Association of America

Founded in 1883, the Modern Language Association of America is a large scholarly association with over 26,000 members in 100 countries. MLA host an annual convention and other meetings and sustain a wide-ranging print and electronic publishing program that includes books, journals, style guides, and an international bibliography.

Natural Earth is a project aimed at providing access to public domain map datasets. It was built through collaborative volunteer efforts and is supported by the North American Cartographic Information Society (NACIS).

Portico

Portico preserves scholarly literature published in electronic form and ensures that these materials remain accessible to future scholars, researches, and students. Portico is part of ITHAKA, a not-for-profit organization with a mission to help the academic community use digital technologies to preserve the scholarly record and to advance research and teaching in sustainable ways. Content is received from participating publishers, migrated to standard formats and preserved. Access is provided to eligible libraries when a trigger event occurs. Portico is a division of Ithaka Harbors, Inc. Portico was certified by CRL in 2010 as a trustworthy digital repository.

Public Library of Science (PLOS)

Public Library of Science (known as PLOS) is a non-profit publisher of Open Access journals.  As of 2021, PLOS is publishing articles in the following seven Open Access Journals:

Roper Center for Public Opinion Research

The Roper Center for Public Opinion Research at the University of Connecticut is a non-profit, non-partisan international archive of social science data, specializing in data from opinion surveys.The data held by the Roper Center ranges from the mid-1930s to the present.  Most Roper survey data is from the United States, but data sets from 90 other countries are also held. The Center also provide graduate training in the practice and study of opinion survey research.
