    Inclusion Policy

Since 2002 EMBASE has had a cover-to-cover policy: all articles (apart from book reviews and obituaries) are covered.
Before 2002 this policy applied to most titles (>90%), but some were covered selectively for drugs information only.

    Geographical Coverage

    • US / Canada: 31%
    • Europe: 54%
    • Australasia: 10%
    • Rest of World: 5%

    Gap Fill Policy

Gaps due to missing issues are actively filled: missing issues are claimed from journals publishers and added to the database as soon as they are received.

    Not filled are:
    - gaps due to journals not being covered from vol 1 iss 1.
    - gaps that occur for a few journals which were not covered during a certain period of their existence.

    Archive Policy

We do not aim to cover all journals back to vol 1 iss 1.
For many journals, coverage was begun when they had already been in existence for some years. In such cases the back years are not indexed.

    Full Text Linking
