The product offers global data covering historical portfolio holdings, equities, separate accounts, hedge funds, ETFs, indexes, and real-time pricing. The product also includes analysis tools for researchers to use in utilizing the data. 

The Morningstar Investment Research Center product provides access to stock market data and analysis, equity, and mutual funds information for research. The resource is a subscription database designed to service institutions, investors, and business students. In a 2010 review in The Charleston Advisor, John Schmitt called the product "a versatile investment tool that uses current data and in-depth analysis to put a value on stocks, bonds, mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, and broad markets . . .
