The National Security Archive's Virtual Reading Room provides access to a collection of primary-source documents the National Security Archive has published. Documents in the collections include documents on major topics in international affairs. NSA has secured these documents through Freedom of Information and declassification requests to more than 200 offices and agencies of the U.S. government. 

As of November 2018, the Virtual Reading Room provides access to 3778 documents.

Founded in 1985, the National Security Archive is a 501(c)3 non-profit, non-governmental organization. The NSA is located at George Washington University and was founded by journalists and scholars to check rising government secrecy.

A project of the Centro Nacional de Memoria Histórica, the Universidad del Rosario, in Bogotá, and ColombiaCheck.com, this database provides information about armed conflict in Colombia. The project further aims to involve survivors of the conflict and to connect internet users to the dynamics of a war that took place in regions distant from large cities.

Rutas del Conflicto is mostly run by students and journalists from Universidad del Rosario.

The South Asia Terrorism Portal (SATP) is a website dedicated to providing access to data on terrorism and low intensity warfare in South Asia through an online database for research and analysis of all extremist movements in the region. SATP is a searchable and continuously updated database on available information relating to terrorism, low intensity warfare and ethnic/communal/sectarian strife in South Asia.

The Yemen Data Project is an independent data collection project aimed at collecting and disseminating data on the conduct of the war in Yemen, with the purpose of increasing transparency and promoting accountability of the actors involved. The Yemen Data Project was founded in 2016 with the overall goal of contributing independent and neutral data to increase transparency over the conduct of the war and to inform humanitarian response, human rights advocacy, media coverage and policy discussion.
