Their three current initiatives include:

  • Policy Commons— research coming from over 21,000 think tanks, NGOs, and IGOs
  • Mindscape Commons—curates content of virtual reality and immersive video in mental health
  • African Collections—focusing on content from the African continent

Brazilian cinema gained international acclaim through the Cinema Novo of Glauber Rocha, Nelson Pereira dos Santos and other directors in the 1960s. Yet Brazil produced numerous films throughout its various regions since as early as 1896. Until now, a proper appreciation of early Brazilian cinema has been hampered by the loss of a significant number of the films, as well as a lack of available printed sources pertaining to Brazil’s movie industry.

Caribbean Studies in Video: The Banyan Archive provides access to more than 1,100 hours of both edited programs and unedited footage from Banyan Productions in Trinidad & Tobago.

Founded in 1974, Banyan Productions provided entertainment programs in the Caribbean.  It featured a mixture of documentaries, drama and music entertainment, and social commentary for, about, and by the Caribbean people.
