    Collection Content

This database offers access to current and recent retrospective content for more than 800 news sources from outside the U.S. and Canada, including such prominent titles as The Bangkok Post, El Norte, Financial Times, The Guardian, Jerusalem Post, South China Morning Post, The Daily Telegraph, Asian Wall Street Journal, and the BBC Monitoring series for various world regions.

The publisher indicates that “each issue of every newspaper is indexed thoroughly, so researchers have access to not only top news stories but also detailed information on sports, business, and the arts around the world.”

Sources include a range of newspapers, wire feeds, news magazines, blogs, and other sources. The largest suppliers of content appear to be through syndication services (SyndiGate Media Inc., Global Network Content Services) and large media groups such as Fairfax Media Publications and News Limited (Australia); Financial Times, MGN Ltd. and Johnston Press New Media (UK); and HT Media Ltd. (India). Correspondingly, content is weighted more strongly towards sources from Australia, UK, and India, though the product maintains a broad representative sample of material from various world regions.

International Newsstream (formerly ProQuest International Newsstand) is discrete product offering from ProQuest, incorporating sources from smaller product subsets such as Latin American Newsstream and Middle East & African Newsstream. Sources provided in International Newsstream are also available in the broader Global Newsstream (combining international, U.S. and Canadian sources) available via ProQuest Central.
