Portico is a service of the not-for-profit organization ITHAKA. Portico preserves digital publications such as e-journal articles, e-books, and digitized historical collections. This new environment includes hundreds of thousands of type specimens, paintings, drawings, correspondence, and supporting materials. By 2013, JSTOR expect to have over 2.2 million type specimens available, making JSTOR Plant Science the largest collection of its kind in the world.
