Africa Commons is a project which aims to enable Africa to easily control, digitize, and disseminate its cultural heritage–within Africa, and internationally.
Coherent Digital, LLC, create databases from "content that’s uncatalogued, undiscoverable, uncitable, prone to link rot, and likely to disappear."
Their three current initiatives include:
- Policy Commons— research coming from over 21,000 think tanks, NGOs, and IGOs
- Mindscape Commons—curates content of virtual reality and immersive video in mental health
- African Collections—focusing on content from the African continent

Middle East and North Africa: Global Perspectives, 1957-1995 is an online archive of CIA translated international journals, newspapers, scientific reports, and radio and television broadcasts from 19 countries in North Africa and Middle East during the period of 1957-1995.
American Race Relations: Global Perspectives, 1940-1996 provides access to CIA monitored, recorded and translated news from newspapers, magazines, books, government statements and radio and television broadcasts that covered American racial issues and race relations in the United States. It includes commentaries on African-American history, the Civil Rights movement, Hispanic-American history, and Asian-American history.
North American Indian Thought and Culture provides access to autobiographies, biographies, Indian publications, oral histories, personal writings, photographs, drawings, and audio files that were previously unpublished. It includes fifty-four volumes from the 18th and 19th centuries with works by Cadwallader Colden, William Apes, Samuel G. Drake, and Benjamin Drake, as well as autobiographies by Black Hawk, Okah Tubbee, Kah-Ga-Gah-Bowh, and many others.
The Gilded Age collection brings together 53,000 pages of full text, photographs, songs for listening online, and other primary materials, along with video interviews and twenty-five critical documentary essays. Each documentary essay poses an interpretive question and then illuminates it with dozens of annotated primary documents, introductions, and essays.
"The London Broadcasting Company/Independent Radio News audio archive consists of 7,000 reel-to-reel tapes in a collection that runs from 1973 to the mid-1990s. It is the most important commercial radio archive in the UK and provides a unique audio history of the period.
