The Global Press Archive Charter Alliance is an initiative by East View Information Services and the Center for Research Libraries to develop a special series of thematically designed collections to meet the priorities of the CRL members.

Colonial America is a five-module resource expected to incorporate all 1,450 files form the CO 5 class at The National Archives, UK.  CO 5 contains the original correspondence between the Board of Trade and Secretaries of State and the English, later British, colonies in North America and the Caribbean from 1606-1822.

Latin American Anarchist and Labour Periodicals Online is a collection of digitized political movement periodicals from nations throughout South and Central America, as well as the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico. The collection will feature 967 titles and will be available in May 2013 from Brill Online.

US Hispanic Newsstream (Formerly knonw as ProQuest U.S. Hispanic Newsstand) provides access to 57 Hispanic newspapers from across the U.S., covering local, regional, national, and international news with an Hispanic perspective.

American Indian Histories and Cultures, scheduled for release in fall 2013, will present material from the Newberry Library’s Edward E. Ayer Collection, an extensive archival collection on American Indian history. The content ranges from early contacts with European settlers through the expanded occupation of the American west, up through the Indian political movements of the mid-20th century. The collection covers a wide geographic area with a primary focus on North America and Mexico.

This collection, the first installment in the American Ethnic Newspapers series within Readex’s America’s Historical Newspapers collection, presents 369 titles published by Hispanics in the United States, going back to the first known Hispanic-American title published in New Orleans in 1808.

Classic Mexican Cinema  is a small, specialized digital collection of around 40,000 pages issued as one of the Brill Primary Sources collections. The five periodicals featured are from the Archives of the Filmoteca of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). In addition to periodicals the collection includes the personal scrapbook of filmmaker Fernando de Fuentes, as well as 50 rare lobby cards. 

LLMC-Digital, the online platform of the nonprofit Law Library Microform Consortium, makes a wide range of legal and governmental publications available online for the use of the academic community. The content and interface of LLMC-Digital are reviewed here; its value for use in historical research is compared to other databases in a CRL topic guide.

State Papers Online is a comprehensive collection of primary source British documents. Four modules covering 1509 to 1714, the period of the Tudor and Stuart monarchies, have already been completed; a new collection for the 18th century (covering 1714 to 1782) will be released in three modules, beginning in summer 2013. This wealth of digitized documents includes manuscript correspondence, reports, Parliamentary drafts, and depositions on domestic and foreign affairs.
